CATL Announced New Cooperation with BMW for Cylindrical Cell from 2025

This month, Chinese battery giant CATL announced a long-term cooperation with BMW, to provide cylindrical batteries for powering the BMW's new pure electric vehicle models starting from 2025.

According to the agreement, CATL will supply BMW with new cylindrical batteries with a standard diameter of 46mm, which will be produced at two battery plants in China and Europe, each providing an annual production capacity of 20GWh to BMW.

Driven by the new cylindrical battery from CATL, the BMW sixth-generation eDrive technology on BMW's new series of electric vehicles is a great progress in the energy density, charging speed and endurance mileage on electric vehicle technology.
